What made you want to join forces with DeMellier for this collaboration?
I started my career as a marketing manager for several bag brands, so I’m quite familiar with the industry and the process of bag making. I really like DeMellier because I can see how detailed they are in their work and how great the quality of the bags are.
Why did you choose the Sloane knit as your limited edition Icon?
With DeMellier’s launch of quality knitwear last year I fell in love with the Sloane design that I already have in grey. It was the knit I wore the most last year. It’s carefully wrapped up and I can't wait to take it again this winter. It’s super chic, soft and warm. When the team asked me to design a reinterpretation of the Sloane I wanted to jump on board straight away.
What have you enjoyed most about the designing process with the DeMellier team?
The Demellier team is small and I just really clicked with Mireia right from the start. I think she has a great brand, empowering, strong and clean and I admire her passion for it. She’s very lively and enthusiastic. She knows how to keep all the balls in the air and that's so inspiring. So the general energy of the team - I mean the designer Eefje is Dutch - is just so nice to connect with an inspiring team, especially for me as I work alone most of the time.
