All our products are ethically handcrafted at family-run factories in Europe - factories with a rich, ancestral leather heritage. We only work with makers we trust, who embody the socially-responsible craft values we believe luxury should stand for. To make a DeMellier bag takes time, skill and only the finest sustainable materials. Each creation is a little piece of art, taking anywhere up to 35 artisans and 50 individual pieces to make one bag.

Widely regarded within the luxury industry and offering safe, fair working environments, all of our factories are audited annually to ensure full compliance with EU laws. On the sustainability front, they never throw away any raw materials and leftovers are always donated to local apprentice schools. We are committed to further reducing our impact on the world and as we look to the future, we will continue our mission to move towards renewable energy to power our buildings and machinery.

The majority of our raw material suppliers are based in Europe and follow strict EU labour and environmental laws. For suppliers outside of Europe, DeMellier is implementing a supplier code of conduct to ensure worker’s rights are respected and environmental impact is properly managed.
