The Midi New York in pecan brown lizard-effect, in collaboration with Kate Hutchins for ICONS 2024. The contemporary spirit of this silhouette is balanced perfectly with the vintage-inspired aesthetic of the leather - developed for DeMellier at a specialist tannery in Tuscany, Italy. The Midi New York sits nicely in the crook of your elbow or can be held by hand. The base is constructed with triangular folds on each side and enhanced with metal feet. Internally, this bag is the perfect size to carry all essentials and can be safely closed off with a central internal magnet.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO COLLABORATE WITH DEMELLIER?

As soon as I wore my first DeMellier bag I fell in love. I fell even more in love when I discovered the brand's amazing values and ethical craftsmanship. Everything already felt well-aligned, so it was a really easy and natural decision to collaborate on a new limited-edition Midi New York bag.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE MIDI  NEW YORK AS YOUR LIMITED-EDITION ICON AND WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION?

I use my Midi New York bags non stop! They’re an easy, chic everyday bag and go with all my day-to-day looks. My inspiration was vintage bags: I always save & screenshot them for my mood boards. Dark brown lizard-effect was something I saw pop up a lot and this was the perfect opportunity to create a synergy between vintage and contemporary design.
